NMM not properly installing mods? I don't know if I'm just screwing up, but I have NMM and I've downloaded a few mods. It doesn't seem like they're working in game. NMM does not automatically activate mods as there is a chance your downloads will conflict with currently installed files, and we think it's best if you manage this process manually so you do not inadvertently break your game. To activate and install a mod simply select the mod within the Mods tab and click the "Activate" button. Issue with NMM (installed mods not appearing ticked after reopening NMM) I find myself dealing with the weirdest issue with NMM at the moment. Mods install correctly as normal but if NMM is closed at all upon reopening all mods install or Uninstalled go back to that greyed text format with the empty space where the green tick or red x normally are. The mods are all installed, work ingame and esp in plug-ins menu are active but in the mod menu they appear as though they aren't and clicking on.
